Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 Announced
Written by Aaron Mitchell | Saturday, 06 February 2010 10:28

Narutoshippuden

You think one ninja is badass? Consider the badassary of an entire storm of them, throwing shuriken all over the place and turning into logs. Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm on the PS3 is, visually a pretty amazing game, I’ve not played it myself but watching my son play the hell out of it I can tell you the graphics bring the cartoon to vivid life. Recreations of scenes from the show using the graphics engine look almost identical and sometimes better than the 2D animation.

Unfortunately the rest of the game is a little on the shallow side, ending too quickly and only featuring a smattering of Naruto’s huge cast of characters. The sequel promises more depth and more characters and to bump the story line into the Shippuden era when the junior characters have done some growing up and which my ten year old assures me is ‘Fully sicker’ than the last era. The sequel comes from the same development house CyberConnect2 and will be available before the end of the year.

Even if you’re not a fan its worth picking up the last Ultimate Ninja Storm to see how well a cartoon can be transferred to cell shaded 3D models on the PS3.

Plus, because I’m both handsome and generous, here’s a trailer:
